ruggles stitch on etsy!

I stumbled across this adorable little shop, ruggles stitch, on etsy the other day and fell in love instantly! I have recently become obsessed with embroidering things. I really love the handmade look of embroidered items. My mom just bought me some green linen napkins to put something on and also the coolest book to find some good designs. I can't wait to pick out what to put on them! Anyway, I had to share this shop and the awesome stuff the owner does!

many of her cross stitch is made to look like notebook paper, i just love that idea! so cute and creative right?!

most of them also feature a really sweet words! you can have a custom frame made also with whatever you want on it. i love them all!

how cool is this?! the philadelphia skyline! i just love it, i'd love one of these for my sewing room walls!

sweet and simple!

they look so great hanging on the wall!

really cool bikes!

I'll soon need a bike of my own to get around the city! Since we are moving a little farther from everything, it's my best option. I've been drooling over some beautiful bikes online but I know I won't have one like these any time soon. They are beautiful though and I came up with a small list of my favorites! Enjoy!!

(this is my favorite with that great basket on the front!)

aren't they all so lovely?! :)
i think i'll need to buy a helmet and maybe even some elbow pads if I'll be riding in this crazy city!

my first completed dress

ever since i figured out how to use a sewing machine i wanted to learn how to make my own clothes...not all of them of course, but maybe some summer dresses or skirts or something. after opening my first pattern and realizing the huge task ahead i became a little scared of sewing clothes. i get tired after just cutting out the pattern pieces! and it doesnt help that my little Edward loves nothing more than to sit right in the center of whatever it is i'm working on...

but he's just so cute! so a few weekends ago some big motivation came over me and i headed over to spool to pick out the perfect fabric! i have a bunch of patterns i have bought over time and chose one to start working on. it didn't take me long to make some progress and i was determined to finish this one! (i have a few garments that are half way done...)

the dress has a pretty collar and lots of pleats on the skirt! it really wasn't very difficult and with a few helpful words from my friend Heather at spool, I was able to successfully finish the dress!

i love exposed zippers so i chose that instead of an invisible one

aren't those pleats fabulous?!

(excuse the goofy picture of me) but i wore it with a cute brown leather belt, oh and i forgot, it even has pockets! perfect.

someone even asked me where i bought it, the best compliment i could ever receive!
now it's on to the next dress pattern!

linen, linen, linen

ah, there are few things i love more than something made out of linen! i think something made of linen is automatically better! ha wow i really do love it. i just love that natural look and it matches perfectly with any color! i love the look and feel of it also, and its beautiful in any color! i have a whole bookmark tab on my macbook dedicated to things i find that i love made of linen! i could post 100 pictures of great finds but here are just a few...

how beautiful is this scarf? nice and light and perfect for spring and summer!

i own these wedges from aldo. i fell in the love right away..and they are comfortable and how cute is that buckle on the toe?!

this chair from anthro is so perfect in every way. i don't even know how to talk about it! the color is amazing and if only i had a small fortune stored away somewhere...this chair would be mine!

these lime green linen dish towels are amazing

white linen is especially one of my favorites! i love this flower and i'm thinking it might even be cute in my short brown hair..

i always look to martha for some inspiration and i found these 'dust shields' made of strips of linen, so practical and pretty too!

love, love, love these linen lined baskets - i think i'll do this to all my baskets when evan and i move into our home!

this dark grey clutch is to die for! ah, i just can't get enough..

on a different note - THANK YOU to everyone who has shown so much support and love lately. it means so so much to me and i am so thankful to have all of you in my life to support me and to be as excited as i am about my etsy shop and what the future holds! i love you all so much!

my shop!

wow, I am super excited (and a pretty proud) to announce that today I opened my very own etsy shop! It has been a goal of mine ever since I discovered etsy about 2 years ago and then as soon as i discovered my love for sewing and creating, I knew I could and would achieve this goal of mine! It's taken a bit longer than I hoped but I wanted everything to be perfect! I don't have much in there yet but I promise to add more each day as I produce new items!

I also just received my 'whiskers & limes' tags today so it was perfect timing!! i think they look so great! michelle from inked papers made them for me. they are just plain and simple and exactly what i wanted! i hope you'll enjoy checking on my shop from time to time...maybe you'll even find something you love! thanks in advance for your support..I'm very excited to continue creating new treasures!

ork posters!

I am in love with these posters! I discovered the Philadelphia one when Evan and I were out looking at houses and in the one house we looked at, the couple had this really neat poster hanging in their living room. I loved it so much I went home and googled things until I found it! Ork Posters has the outline of an area and break it up into the neighborhoods or whatever sections..

There are many different cities to choose from and they also have one that's of the heart and the brain, how cute! I can't wait to pick one to hang in our new home!! Here are my favorites..

Definitely check out their website, such a great idea!!
