lace, lace, lace!

this seems to be a trend lately.... It's been so long since I posted anything here! I've been trying to keep myself busy with lots and lots of sewing and lots and lots of knitting! If you know me, you know that I love anything with lace! I made one little wristlet that I added lace to, put it on my facebook page and got a handful of requests for the same wristlet with a different background color. and then I'd get another order and another so yesterday I smartened up and decided to make a batch of these beautiful lacey wrislets!

here are some custom orders I've made already with lace...

... and I've got another stack that just need zippers! something about the lace just adds so much to the fabric! i love it! i'm going to add these to my etsy shop hopefully tomorrow, so check it out if you're interested! or send me an email for a custom lace order!

and here's a tiny cat coin purse I made for a friend too :-)

my bridesmaid boxes

I'm sure all of my regular readers know that over Thanksgiving my most wonderful man proposed to me in Carlisle. And if you know me at all, you know that I was really excited and looking forward to this happening! Since we live in Texas right now the only thing I've been sure about are my beautiful bridesmaids. I knew before Evan asked who they would be and I wanted to ask them in the most special way I could think of. It took me a little more than a month to put them together and hand them out to each girl but it was so exciting and made everything seem more real.

I bought small wooden boxes at Michael's. I took them all apart and painted them yellow. They already came with the super cool chalkboard lids so it was perfect to write each girl's name with chalk.

I lined each box with grey fabrics and bunting on the lids. I love bunting!

I made small squares that I embroidered with "Will you be my bridesmaid/maid of honor?" and put a binding on them. I filled each box with a few of my favorite things and their favorite things so each box was made for each lady.

I got paint sample squares in grey and yellow and included them too. (those are my colors for the wedding!)

each piece of the box was tied up in twine and had a tiny sign on it.

I also made 6 of these little coin purses (1 for me too) and put 1 in each box so we all have one thing alike.

And this is how it looked when they opened their box. All packaged up with the little sign on top.

It was SO fun for me to make these and hand them to each of my special ladies. It's just the start of all my DIY wedding plans! I'll be sure to post more when planning really gets going.

i love anthro

ugh - who doesn't love anthropologie?! I can (and very often do) get lost browsing their website and adding to all my wishlists! and now that I'm getting married I can actually kind of have a real wish list that I can make into a registry! and lucky for me, evan also thinks their stuff is pretty cool and has no problems having an anthropolgie registry! here is the start of that!

so amazing right?! I can only imagine how beautiful my kitchen would look with all of these things in it! I would probably even make pies and other things if I had that rolling pin! ha ha

happy thursday friends! ox

things these days

phew! what a whirlwind the past month has been! since we got back to beaumont after thanksgiving, I've been busy with so many things!

Evan proposed!

I was knitting like a serious crazy lady!

and then I had a sick little boy!

Luckily, things seem to be getting back to normal and I am focusing on all my sewing adventures! I signed up for a festival in February to sell my things (in Beaumont) and for another tiny 'show' here too. It's pretty exciting! We've also had so much rain here in Texas this week and I LOVE the rain!! Especially on days when I just spend the whole day sewing and knitting and snuggling with Edward!
